Rock-a-bye baby
So my kids are playing with their baby dolls and I can here them singing Rock-a-bye baby and it made me think. Have we really paid attention to the song….
Rock-a-bye baby on the treetop
When the wind blows
The cradle will rock
When the bough breaks
The cradle will fall
And down will come baby
Cradle and all
WTF? We’ve been singing this song to children for years and we wonder why some of them are screwed up? Who wrote this? What the hell were they thinking?

When you think about it, it is a warning not to have kids because they are going to drive you out of your mind!!

Stop! I was just singing this song to my niece two nights ago (I am late commenting on this post--we might have been singing the song on the SAME day! Anyway..) and I was listening to the words for the first time and I was like "This is one scary-ass downright DEPRESSING song! Why are we singing this crap to kids?"
Hysterical.

ROFLMAO!!! I'm crying over here! LOL...That's true, though. That shit is down right depressing, now that I think about the lyrics. LOL
